IS MOB JUSTICE THE ANSWER FOR SAUT MALIMBE THIEVES?

By PETRO,Steven
Recently, the incidences of theft and mob justice has increased around SAUT-Malimbe community.
Within this week two men who were suspected to be thieves were beaten, stoned and burned by an angry mob.

Unfortunately, one among those two men killed by the angry mob for being suspected to be thieves, actually he was not a thief but he was a primary teacher from Bugando primary school.
The source says that, the man was in quarrel with his girlfriend who is a student of SAUT. The girl shouted "mwizi" upon her boyfriend , this lead the man to be beaten up and burned by the angry mob.

But when we think critically, how come the community of educated people do not believe in our judicial system and commit these injustice killing of innocent people.

SIX MINISTERS OUT FROM NEW CABINET OF MINISTERS!!!!

SIX out of eight former cabinet ministers who were criticized by Members of Parliament and were implicated in a report by the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) and two deputy ministers have lost their positions in the new cabinet announced in Dar es Salaam on Friday by President Jakaya Kikwete.
Two of the eight ministers, who also faced stiff challenge in the previous parliamentary session (April) of the National Assembly, have been shifted to new ministries.

These are the former Minister for Agriculture, Food Security and Cooperatives, Prof. Jumanne Maghembe, who has now shifted to the Ministry of Water and a former minister in the President's Office (Good Governance), Mr Mathias Chikawe.

Two deputy ministers have been left out of the list. These are Dr Lucy Nkya (Health and Social Welfare and Athumani Mfutakamba (Transport).Explaining what necessitated the reshuffle, President Kikwete clarified on the turn of events that included a heated debate in parliament as legislators demanded the resignation of all ministers with questionable financial records.

"The Prime Minister (Mr Mizengo Pinda) briefed me on all that transpired in the House and discussed each implicated minister on case-by-case basis. "The matter was again seriously discussed by members of the Central Committee (CC) of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) who endorsed the proposal to make a cabinet reshuffle," President Kikwete said.

However, the president made it clear that some of the ministers have taken political responsibility for mistakes made by their subordinates."It is not enough for a minister to take responsibility alone but the new approach is that even those who caused the mishap will be taken to task as well," Kikwete clarified.

Implicated executive officers of, for example, a parastatal organization or board members, he added, will have to take responsibility together with the concerned minister, otherwise ill-intentioned people might 'cook up' false accusations just to make things difficult for a minister, he said.

Recently President Kikwete was reported saying he was impressed by the stormy debate in the just-ended National Assembly session in Dodoma that demanded greater accountability on the conduct of government business following a hot debate over the CAG's report. The report had the aim of bringing to account all government leaders implicated with abuse of office, embezzlement and dubious transactions.

"I was not annoyed by the stormy debates in the recent session as some people might have portrayed," Mr Kikwete said in his address to the Nation at the climax of celebrations to  mark the International Workers' Day, or May Day, from  the Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga recently.

He noted the enthusiasm with which the House discussed the CAG's report. He thanked the MPs for the spirited debate.
Announcing the new cabinet, President Kikwete said the Minister of State, President's Office, Social Relations and Co-ordination, Stephen Wassira, retains his position.

PR 2.0? INSPIRATION FIRST. TECHNOLOGY LAST.

For inspiration, I follow a wonderful set of bloggers in public relations and many other fields. John Haydon is one of my favorites. He writes about social media marketing for nonprofits. His advice is always personable, practical and sometimes poignant.

Recently, he shared a brief video about social media problem-solving for a nonprofit client. His client struggled to get a passionate spokesperson using technology to share their inspiration. Technology intimidated the spokesperson. They didn’t like Twitter, Facebook or most other social media but as Haydon said, they did know how to use e-mail.

Haydon devised a smart solution. He enabled the spokesperson to use e-mail to post to Facebook. A simple “fix” opening the door for valuable communication to support the client's cause.

While that simple solution alone is worth noting, near the end of the video, Haydon shares some more brilliant PR 2.0 advice worth repeating: “Don’t let technology be a hurdle. Inspiration comes first. Technology comes last. Inspiration gets in the front seat. Technology gets in the back seat.”

Such great advice for so many PR 2.0 situations! You can see Haydon’s video below:

It’s so easy to get overwhelmed by social media or technology choices. You know the conversations?

“I tried Twitter and I didn’t see the point of it.”
“Facebook is just for family and friends.”
“I heard that all the big retailers are abandoning Facebook for Pinterest.”
“I don’t understand Tumblr, Scoop.it, Paper.li, Storify, Google+, Flickr and all the other new social media. Which one should I choose? How can I use them all?”

My advice to clients or PR pros overwhelmed by social media choices is similar to Haydon. “First, do one or two social media things well. The rest follows.”

Don’t be paralyzed. Be proactive.

What’s your experience? Which channels are working well for you and which ones have you abandoned?

LET GO OF THOSE WHO BRING YOU DOWN....

Let go of those who bring you down and surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you.

It is everyone's responsibility to figure out who in their life for them, and who really isn't. Sometimes figuring out who is really for you isn't as hard as we make it seem. Those who are only in our lives to bring us down to their level are easy to spot, if a persons actions continually help guide you to instances of defeat and situations in which you face unnecessary turmoil then chances are that person isn't in your life for you.

Instead let go of those people who bring you down, and surround yourself with those who only bring out the best in you. When you have positive relationships, your thoughts will be more positive, and this will lead to more positive action in your life as well. The important thing to do is to just let go of the negative and to embrace those who are positive. Never settle for a friend, make sure that a person is in your life for good reason, and that all the relationships that you partake in are equally yolked.

COMING SOON....

"Did you know" is the new creative session you are about to witness in this Blog. The session will take

you through findings facts and interview with people you admire around and outside the university.

"Did you know" session is meant to be inspirational and  fun to color your dreams with reality colors of life.

 You will surely like it!

BAPRM 3 STUDENTS HAD MOTIVATION FROM BOBBY, GUEST FROM USA.

"Use your education for your betterment of other people" Those were words from Mr. Bobby McDonald from USA when talking to third year students of Public Relations and Marketing at St. Augustine University of Tanzania. He was invited by Mr. Albert Tibaijuka.

Mr. Bobby talked about Public Relations profession where he said,''as Public Relations Personal you need to do what you can to advertise your country internationally", this is because we have failed to do so and Kenyans have used that opportunity to advertise to Americans that Mountain Kilimanjaro as well as Serengeti National Park are in Kenya while in reality they are in Tanzania.

He suggested that the best thing that Tanzania can do is to make partnership with Kenya so as to make East Africa stronger. This will be a good start for Tanzania.

He was also able to talk a bit about the government policies as one of the students asked a question about it. Mr. McDonald said that you can work harder as an individual or as a group to improve your life because you as one person its hard to change the government policy but you can change yourself.

Tanzania is blessed with so many things that are marketable outside the country. It is blessed with products such as cultural items which include clothes and sandals that most outsiders like to wear, Tanzanians have our traditional dances that are very interesting to watch. These are among the things that we can use to advertise the country. We can promote it through adverts, different programs from different televisions, sports, movies and anywhere possible, Mr. Bobby leave the message to the students that ''find ways to make Tanzania stronger from the education you have''.

IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA IN OUR DA-TO-DAY LIVES.

In the wake of accepting technological advancements, we’ve also come to embrace the term ‘social-networking.’ Starting as an easy way of communication, social networks have accelerated their pace towards transmogrifying our lives. Whether at the comfort of our homes or while commuting, they have become the intruders in our PC screens, mobile devices and our lives. They’ve brought in varied changes in the way we socialize.

Let’s discuss a few impacts that the trend of social networking has brought in:

Communication:

Social networking has changed the way we’d once communicate with friends and family. Social sites have becomes a primary means of communication with Facebook topping the list. It introduces effortless communication with someone on the opposite end of the globe. Its not just mere communication, finding a long lost friend, sending invitations, sharing pictures, letting everyone know what’s on your mind is all made quite simple.

Teenagers:

Teenagers often tend to accept and adapt to a new, trendy, tech-savvy lifestyle easily. Seemingly, social sites have a greater impact on their lives. Quality times spend by them tweeting or updating statuses won’t be a surprising fact. Nevertheless, it has been used by collegians to spread good and meaningful messages.

Recruitment:

Recruitment is another factor that has been quite responsive to the ongoing social media phase (which is here to stay). The wider reach and entering a particular class or forum to pick the right candidate is said to be one of the key reasons. Recruitment by using these social channels have been quite effective, albeit everything comes with a fair share of pros and cons.

Marketing/Advertisement:

Needless to say, social sites serve as a good way to promote products. They’ve emerged as a new marketing platform. Celebs have also been leveraging on these sites to showcase their upcoming events, albums and movies. This latest marketing/advertising platform has forked out paths to newer revenue opportunities.

Entertainment:

Social sites have becomes a part of our lives. They come as a complete package to keep one engaged with factors besides communication. Playing games and then flaunting your high scores is made possible with just a few clicks. It’s a virtual world cocooned within your device screens which opens up as a complete entertainer. People look for more ease and doing things within their comfort zone. They are wowed by the virtual world concept.

Just as a coin has two sides, social networks have their shades of white and grey. While binding the world closer and closer, they bring in bountiful changes.
